Troop 1011 Troopmaster FAQs
Can you provide a login for my son to monitor his own scout data?
If you would like your son to have access to his own info, please send his name and email address to troop1011records@gmail.com. This email address cannot be the same as either parent since each user account must be unique. You may also include a cell number if he would like to use that for contact info regarding patrol events, etc. He must have earned the Cyber Chip to have his account activated.
Can we print or view the Progress Report?
Yes! Please see the FAQ below regarding leadership calculation before contacting the office volunteers.
MOBILE APP: Select Scout Management and choose your scout. Select the Advancement button, then choose the Progress button.
DESKTOP: Select menu Reports then choose Advancement. Select Individual Progress. Choose your scout on the left, and select Generate Report at the top right.

My son has most of the requirements to advance to the next rank, but his Progress Report says he has many more days of leadership (position of responsibility). He has been serving for several months, so how can this be correct?
Leadership is entered as “no-credit” until the scout has completed his term and his performance is approved, so the day counter does not decrement during that time. If your scout has completed most other requirements and is ready to plan for rank advancement, please have him check in with the scoutmaster to determine if he has a signed Leadership Card on file and is actively earning leadership credit. He does not have to wait until the end of the term (usually January & July) to ask, as some people will advance at different times of the year.
MOBILE APP: Select Advancement -> Progress. If you see “Position of Responsibility (122 more days)”, this means the system requires that many days of leadership before the next rank can be awarded. Verify, at the top of the screen, that he is currently in a Position of Responsibility and that he has been actively participating in that role. When he is ready to consider advancing, he can go ahead and check in with the scoutmaster to see where he stands. Once we get the signed Leadership Card, we will set the leadership flag as “credit” for him, and the days remaining calculation will update so you can see exactly how many days of leadership are required. If he has served 110 of those days, his report will then show 12 days remaining, and then he would be ready to advance in a couple of weeks. If his leadership is not satisfactory, he may need to serve longer or start a new term in another capacity.
DESKTOP: Select menu Scouts, then choose Scout Management then VIEW button for your scout. Select Leadership Position. You will see the current role and any past roles.

MOBILE APP: Select Scout Management and choose your scout. Select the Advancement button, then choose the ‘Partial MBs’ button. The list will include each of the merit badges that are currently in progress but not yet completed. The date on the right is the last date for which we entered an update. You may click on the Merit Badge name to see the detail. There you will see the list of numbered/lettered requirements and a checkmark for those which have been signed off. The ones that are not checked remain to be completed. To see the detail for the specific requirement descriptions, click on the Merit Badge name at the top of the screen. This will display the BSA guidelines for the merit badge.
DESKTOP: Select menu Scouts, then choose the VIEW button for your scout. Under your scout's name at the top left, select Boy Scout Advancement. On the left side, you may click on any of the ranks to see the progress made and requirements remaining. On the right, you can click on the Completed Merit Badges or Partial Merit Badges. For those completed, you will see the completion date. For the partials, you will see the requirements earned and those that remain. My son worked on several merit badges at camp, but we never got a blue card. What do we do?
Due to the volume of scouts and merit badges worked at camp, we do not use the blue card method there. Each camp has a data entry staff, and they will send us official records for our entire troop. We will enter all of the data and make copies as needed. A week or two after camp, each scout will receive a paper copy of his own camp record for your personal records. Completed merit badge reports will be placed in your scout’s folder in the office, and all partially completed merit badge reports will be filed in the partials drawer in the office. When your scout is ready to complete the remaining merit badge requirements, he should request the partials report, and the counselor can document any further progress there. We typically send over 50 scouts to summer camp which results in the completion, or partial completion, of over 250 merit badges. Please give the volunteers a couple of weeks to get all of this data entered before inquiring about the status.
My son turned in a blue card weeks ago. Why is the merit badge not listed or still listed as a partial?
For the mobile app, please make sure to run the SYNC process using the refresh/recycle icon at the top right of your screen. This will refresh your device with the most recent Troopmaster data upload from our volunteers in the office. If you still do not see the update you expected, please contact us with the details at troop1011records@gmail.com and we will research and respond.

How can we find a Merit Badge Counselor?
The list of Troop 1011 Merit Badge Counselors is always in a few different places:
MOBILE APP: Go to your Home screen, select the requirements & communication icon on the top right. Select MBC by MB. Select the merit badge of interest. If we have parent volunteers registered to lead this one, the contact info will appear.
DESKTOP: Select menu Reports then choose Merit Badge Counselors. The best option is usually Specific Merit Badge. Select the one you want then choose Generate Report. If nothing appears, we do not have a volunteer at this time.

- Our website displays a current list or adults from our own troop. You may click here to view it.
- There is also printed list on the bulletin board just inside the scout office door on the left.
- If our troop does not have a volunteer for the badge you want to work on, you may request one from our area. Please visit the Foothills Council page here to make the request.
The rank advancement dates in my son's book are more current than what I see online. How can we get this updated?
1) You may scan and send the page image to troop1011records@gmail.com
2) Your scout can drop in the office and make a copy of the rank page(s) and drop in the basket. Please be sure his name is written on the back. We get lots of copies with no names, and those cannot be entered.
